In the 2023 edition, 180 players from 32 teams representing 15 Danish clubs took part in Denmark’s coziest football event for children, young people and adults with disabilities or general learning disabilities.
The event takes place in the Sportscenter Herning’s multi-arena with no less than three walled football pitches. The address is Holingknuden 3, 7400 Herning and you can find more information here: https://www.sportscenterherning.dk/ There is a highway all the way to Herning from e.g. Aarhus, Odense, Copenhagen and the Danish-German border.
Always the first Saturday in December, meaning the next event is Saturday December 7th, 2024. The expected start of the event is around 10am ending with a trophy ceremony in the late afternoon.
Julebold på heden is open for registration in all ranks, which means A-E and U15. If there are not at least three teams registered in a given ranking, we combine two rankings.
The match length depends on the number of registered teams and will typically be 6 minutes per match. All teams advance from the preliminary round and if there are many registered teams in a given ranking, it is split in two after the preliminary round in order to achieve the greatest possible equality and the greatest possible chance of winning a medal.
It is traditional indoor football with four players on the court. Maximum three players on the bench per team per match. The A and B teams must always have one player over the centerline. The players in the C, D, E and U15 ranks must all play on the entire court.
The goalkeeper must distinguish himself from the other players with a different shirt. This applies to all teams.
In C, D and E, the goalkeeper must catch the ball. In the A and B row, the goalkeeper may only block the ball. Other rules will be send to the participating teams before the event.
There are medals for the first three and trophies for the winner in all ranks. There will also be small prizes for good actions during the matches. Last but certainly not least, there is an extra prize for the series winners, as we sponsor the winners’ entry fee in the Boldklubben Enghaven’s indoor event, which is almost an unofficial DM ending the indoor season in the best way in February. In for instance C is split into C1 and C2 playoffs, it is the C1 winner who gets free event participation.
As is the case with Sommerbold på heden, our mission is that as many as possible must have the chance to participate in a great event, which is why the event is free. As at the summer event, we offer to pay any bridge toll. We do not offer accommodation, but there is a hostel right next to Sports Center Herning and many hotels in Herning. The sports center has a large cafeteria, which is open all day so that hunger and thirst can be satisfied. Bridge tolls are refunded after the event on presentation of receipts, but max. DKK 2,000 per club.
A deposit of DKK 500 per team must be paid upon registration. The deposit is returned after participating in the event.
Registration is expected to open in the second half of October. It will be published here on the site and on Facebook, so follow Sommerbold på heden. Familiar clubs will also receive invitations by email. With a limited number of courts, we risk having to close registration before the specified deadline, so be ready to register.
